The Northern Mantis systems are famous for their direct and effective techniques; which some say were derived from watching the movements of the praying mantis. Tai chi praying mantis is unique in that it incorporates the circular movements of tai chi chuan; using the strategy of turning the opponent's movements and energy against him. This style is famous for its seizing and locking techniques; and its arsenal of high and powerful kicks.
